DAVID JONES ARCHITECTS
Working from a studio atop a Dupont Circle townhouse, David Jones Architects designs houses
that fit-both new homes and additions-throughout the Washington area and beyond. Architect
David Jones's background includes undergraduate and professional degrees from Princeton;
study at King's College, Cambridge; service in the Peace Corps and U.S. Navy; and work
with Washington's Hartman-Cox Architects.
In 1977 David launched his own office. Associate Kevin Pruiett & architects Scott O'Barr,
Kelly Moore, Wouter Boer and Nick Bernel work with David to guide each project, and
each owner, through the processes of initial decision-making, preliminary and final design,
construction drawings, builder selection and contract administration.
Recognition for the firm's houses includes over twenty awards from the American Institute
of Architects Washington Chapter, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the
American Wood Council and Washingtonian magazine, along with feature articles
in Architectural Digest, Southern Accents, House Beautiful, Traditional Home and Veranda.
BARNES VANZE
Based in Georgetown, Barnes Vanze Architects Inc. is the product of a long and successful
design history in the Washington area and beyond. Mr.Barnes, originally born and educated
in South Africa, came to this countryafter working in London and Guatemala to attend the
Masters architectura program at Yale University. After graduating in 1983 he moved to
Washington, where he joined Hartman-Cox, a DC-based firm.
Mr. Vanze grew up in New York and attended Brown and the University of Virginia, and moved to
Washingtonin 1977, where he joined the Washington office of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.
Three years later he went to Hartman-Cox, where he and Mr.Barnes began working together.
While at Hartman-Cox, Mr. Barnes' and Mr. Vanze's projects included commercial, institutional
and academic projects in Washington DC, San Antonio, Texas, Charlottesville, Virginia and Wilmington,
Delaware.Mr. Barnes and Mr. Vanze left Hartman-Cox to found Barnes Vanze & Associates in 1989.

Lewis Buchanan Architects is known for creating new houses with timeless character.
David Neumann founded the practice based on a shared passion for traditional architecture. We
opened our first office in Washington, DC in 1985, followed by our office in Middleburg, Virginia in 1989.
After two decades in practice, our firm has won dozens of design awards, appeared in most major magazines,
and achieved a national reputation with clients from coast to coast. Our practice has remained small by
preference to allow the partners to work closely with patrons in shaping their visions of home.
MUSE ARCHITECTS
Muse Architects, established in 1983, is an office with extensive experience in residential,
institutional, commercial, and urban design projects. As an office of twenty people, and with
established relationships with all related engineering consultants, Muse Architects provides
full services fo various scales of architectural commissions.
The work of Muse Architects has received more than one hundred design awards, including
those from the National, Washington, Maryland, Baltimore, Potomac Valley, and Northern Virginia
Chapters of the AIA, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Masonry Institute.
